I earned my bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of Northern Iowa in 2007 and have since completed my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Grand View University. Before entering the counseling field, I spent many years as a stay-at-home mom. During that time, I felt a strong calling from God to pursue this path. True to who I am, I initially resisted, but I ultimately came to trust that His plans are always greater than my own.
I look forward to hearing your story and walking alongside you as you process life’s painful and difficult experiences. I understand that opening up can feel scary and intimidating, and my goal is to create a space where you feel safe, accepted, understood, and valued. My approach to therapy is person-centered, while also integrating cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and Internal Family Systems.
Some of my favorite people in the world are my husband of 15 years and our four children. As a family, we enjoy exploring new places, going for walks, playing games, and eating tacos together. I also love coffee dates with friends, meaningful conversations, Bible study, gardening, reading, and laughing at Nate Bargatze.
