I am a temporary-Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, working under the supervision of Dr. David Kaptain. I received my master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from National University. I began studying psychology in high school and have been drawn to better understand people and their relationships ever since. I received my bachelor's degree from the University of North Dakota in Psychology with an undergraduate certificate in Behavioral Health. My approach to therapy involves Solution-Focused strategies to allow clients to work towards the goals that are most important to them and develop lifelong problem-solving skills to help long after they have left therapy. I also utilize play therapy techniques such as Child-Centered Play Therapy, Theraplay, and Sand Tray Therapy with clients. I am passionate about working with clients seeking life changes, better relationships, or help overcoming challenges. I believe in helping people find the strengths that already lie within them to help them gain the confidence to overcome adversity and build better relationships. My goal is to foster a safe environment for change and vulnerability. My relationship with Christ informs my work and shapes how I approach clients with compassion, empathy, understanding, and optimism. In my free time I love reading and enjoying a meal or the outdoors with my friends and family. Some of my favorite self-care activities include spending time with the Lord through prayer or reading the Bible, as well as going on walks with my family and dog Luna!
