Hello, I’m Kirsten! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) who loves working with kids, teens, and families. I am passionate about helping young people and their families understand themselves in new ways and build stronger connections. My areas of focus include neurodivergence, twice-exceptionality, anxiety, and trauma or attachment-related concerns.

In my work, I take a person and child-centered approach, incorporating play-based techniques and blending in strategies from Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I enjoy coming alongside parents and caregivers to help reframe challenging behaviors through a brain-first, compassionate lens because when we understand what’s driving behavior, we can respond with connection instead of frustration.

My Christian faith is an important part of who I am and naturally influences the way I approach my work. I strive to create a space that reflects grace, hope, and unconditional care, meeting each person where they are. While I welcome clients of all backgrounds and beliefs, my faith guides me in seeing each individual as inherently valuable and worthy of compassion.

I earned my master’s degree in 2011 from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and chose to pursue professional licensure in 2023 after spending several years focused on my family. Becoming a licensed counselor has been one of the most meaningful decisions I’ve made. I consider it a joy and a privilege to walk with people through their journeys and I would be honored to sit with you in the lows and celebrate with you in the highs!

I’ve been married to my husband for 17 years and am the proud mom of three teenage sons (plus two sweet dogs- Chip and Willow). When I’m not in the office, you can usually find me outside or spending time with my family.
