I am a Licensed Mental Health Therapist with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wheaton College. I have been working in the field as a therapist since 2016, with experience serving clientele from all walks of life – children as young as 3 years old to adults 75+.
I entered the counseling field because I saw God’s compassion, empathy, and faithfulness amidst the pain and brokenness of this world. His desire for healing in others is really what inspired me to want to be a tool that He used. And I am so grateful that He has allowed me this privilege. I have had the honor of walking with so many people as they have experienced both hope and freedom in their lives. And I long to support you through the struggles of life as well. We aren’t meant to walk this road alone. I hope that I can be someone who can come alongside you and encourage you along the way.
I believe one way that God facilitates healing is through genuine connection with others, leading to vulnerability, honesty, and authenticity. As your therapist, I will work to create an atmosphere of safety where you feel valued and accepted - a space where you feel comfortable to openly discuss your fears, concerns, griefs, and joys, learning to grow in your own self-worth as you navigate life stressors to achieve your own personal goals.
I am trained in Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), various Play Therapy Techniques, and utilizing Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) in relation to OCD. With client permission, I also enjoy integrating faith into sessions, as I believe that God is ultimately the provider of healing and the sustainer of all that is good. My approach to therapy is eclectic, integrating a variety of interventions to best support you and your specific goals. Some examples include cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment theory, mindfulness, Gestalt, narrative therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), emotion-focused, and person-centered strategies.
I have been married to my husband for two years and am a new mom of a bouncing baby boy. Outside of the office, I enjoy game nights with family and friends, reading on the porch in the cool of the morning, cooking new recipes, working out, exploring the great outdoors, and playing the laser pointer game with my two cats – Purrsley and Maya. Above all though, my ultimate fulfillment and deepest sense of purpose comes from my relationship with my savior Jesus Christ, who loves and accepts me unconditionally.
